Building a Community of Learning, Creating, and Connection
At The Little Chicken Coop, we’re excited to introduce ourselves as a new nonprofit organization — a labor of love, built on a simple but powerful mission: to bring families together through hands-on learning, creativity, and community connection.
We believe that education is more than textbooks and tests; it’s about experiences, shared time, and skills that enrich our daily lives and strengthen families and communities.
🌟 Our Mission
Our mission is to support families throughout the Fort Worth, and greater DFW Metroplex by offering accessible, engaging, and family-centered learning opportunities — both in person and online.
We want to create a place where parents and children alike can discover forgotten skills, foster creativity, and make memories together. Whether it’s baking bread, sewing a quilt, tending a garden, or building something with your own two hands — these experiences matter. They root us, connect us, and give us tools for self-reliance, creativity, and joy.

At the heart of The Little Chicken Coop are clear goals:
📚 Provide accessible curriculum for families — We’re developing both in-person classes and online resources so families can learn in a way that suits their schedules and lifestyles.
🚌 Organize field trips and real-world learning experiences — Kids learn best when they can see, touch, and experience. We want to help families step outside the classroom and into their community.
💛 Offer community resources and support — From parent meet-ups to skill-sharing groups, we aim to create a true community hub for families to connect, support, and uplift one another.
👨👩👧👦 Be family-centered — Every program we offer is designed to bring families together, encouraging learning side by side and making memories that last.

In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, it’s easy to lose touch with hands-on learning, family time, and community connection. We want The Little Chicken Coop to be a place where we slow down — where parents, children, and neighbors can gather, share knowledge, and rediscover the joy of learning and creating together.
This isn’t just about classes and field trips — it’s about building a collective, a community of families who believe that learning is lifelong, and that we’re stronger and better when we do it together.
✨ Looking Ahead
We’re thrilled to share that we’ve applied for our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and expect to hear back soon! Once approved, we can officially launch programs, plan our first classes, schedule field trips, and build the community we’ve dreamed of.
We’re here for you — parents looking for resources and support, homeschool families seeking curriculum and enrichment, children eager to learn with their hands and hearts, and neighbors who want to be part of something meaningful and family-oriented.
